Those trees are junipers! I’ve only ever seen bush-sized junipers in Canada. Scrubby, tough juniper TREES!

That blue stripe in the upper left is Bear Lake itself. It’s a breathtaking blue like no other lake we’ve seen: when we came over the mountain and got our first view of it from high up, we were both amazed.
